Health Care Businesses for Sale
This is one of our largest and most active sectors and covers a wide range of health care businesses including domiciliary care companies, nursing agencies and residential homes. It also includes highly niche businesses, for instance private ambulance services, supported living agencies and adult learning care homes.

Buying and running a health care business generally requires a combination of technical sector experience (e.g. nursing or care background) and management ability (to deal with admin, regulations, marketing, finance etc). The levels of experience required in each area varies depending on business type and what existing support or experience comes with the business. For instance, an independent care home may have a registered manager in place, in which case the buyer will not, themselves, need to be qualified.

There are many regulatory requirements involved with owning a health care business, such as those imposed by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and Local Authorities, and staying compliant with ever-changing regulations is a significant part of running a health care business. It is therefore advisable for a prospective buyer to be already familiar with the sector, or to factor in employing someone to take care of those issues within the business.

Recruitment Businesses for Sale
We have many recruitment businesses for sale at any one time, in a large variety of industrial sectors ranging from industrial, property, engineering & technical, medical and marketing, through to childcare and education, as well as multi-sector agencies. There are recruitment businesses for sale nationwide, from London to West Midlands, Oxfordshire, North West, Bedfordshire, Hampshire and Kent.

Prospective owners should ideally have some kind of recruitment or HR background enabling them to manage the various legal aspects of recruitment. Alternatively, a specialist recruitment agency may be a suitable purchase for a large company in the appropriate sector looking to bring recruitment skills in-house or to bring down their own recruitment costs.

Property Management Businesses for Sale
Property management businesses for sale include lettings agencies, estate agents and block management companies. We have businesses for sale in Hertfordshire, Essex, Sussex, Middlesex, London and beyond. While the general property market has suffered in recent years, the lettings market has stayed strong, and office and apartment blocks still require management even during a recession.

Prospective owners require some practical experience of the sector, combined with managerial ability. Buying a property management business can be a great way to acquire a property portfolio quickly. Alternatively, it can be a way to expand an existing property management business into different geographical areas and build a brand presence across a region.

Cleaning Businesses for Sale
We have several cleaning businesses for sale at any one time in Essex, Berkshire, East Anglia and the Home Counties and beyond.

Cleaning businesses can be either commercially focused (e.g. office cleaning and janitorial services) or domestically focused (offering house cleans). Commercial cleaning companies with large contracts in place offer the steadiest income as contracts are generally large and can run for years. Domestic cleaning companies are more prone to cash flow fluctuations as private customers can come and go less predictably. Some domestic cleaning companies solve this problem by doing some semi-commercial work, for instance offering between-letting cleaning for lettings companies or private landlords, or one-off cleans for small businesses.

Cleaning businesses require relatively little in the way of formal qualifications – a good general managerial ability is the main requirement. Buying a cleaning business may therefore appeal to those looking for a business opportunity which does not require a great deal of specialist knowledge.

Packaging Businesses for Sale
We have a number of packaging businesses for sale in the South East, Hertfordshire, London, Merseyside and beyond. The packaging industry covers a wide range of businesses including product packaging, packing and fulfilment and printing.

The key to running a successful packaging company is to have a steady throughput of work from a range of companies, so that the business is not overly dependent on one company or one industrial sector. A prospective owner therefore needs to be externally focused on marketing the company’s services and winning new contracts. The packaging sector is increasingly hi-tech with automation in many areas enabling more throughput per person. It is therefore helpful if a buyer has an appreciation of the technology options available and is able to factor in strategic capital investment to improve productivity. A buyer will like to see the presence of equipment which is flexible and can be adapted to many different types of packaging.

Logistics Businesses for Sale
Logistics companies include a variety of different types of businesses including removals and storage, haulage and distribution, plant hire, pallet distribution, warehousing and more.
While the basic elements of a logistics business may appear simple on the surface – storing and transporting goods to where they are needed – the sector has become increasingly sophisticated in recent years, with many depending on computerisation to manage stock and track shipments. And for any kind of international logistics, keeping track of customs and excise documentation is a job in itself.

Buyers of logistics businesses will generally be those already operating within a sector and with the expertise to take on the complexities of this type of operation.

Service Businesses for Sale
Service companies include a highly diverse set of businesses. They include any type of business where the service provided is less tangible and depends more on the transfer or application of knowledge or expertise. Examples might include training, design or communications.

A buyer of a service business will typically require in-depth expertise in the particular service provided – or will need to see strong technical management in place to provide this expertise. Alternatively, a buyer may be seeking to complement their existing operation by adding a particular type of expertise to their existing service offering. This can often be a more efficient way forward than trying to set up a new department from scratch.

Manufacturing / Engineering Businesses for Sale
The manufacturing / engineering sector is highly diverse, characterised by businesses who are predominantly involved in working with physical products. It can include such businesses as civil engineering firms or manufacturers of consumer products. Sometimes there can be overlap with the service sector – for instance a company may make a product but also be directly involved in installation and maintenance.

A buyer may be looking to acquire manufacturing capability for its own products, or they may be looking at a standalone investment. Often, a buyer will be as interested in the expertise within the workforce, which frequently includes highly qualified engineers, as it is in the premises or equipment.

Sometimes a business simply does not quite fit into any of the categories above. In this case we place them in our Unique Opportunities section where you will find a high diversity of niche businesses for sale.
